The itinerary

Day 1: july 19th, 2024

Please be prepared to meet in the lobby at 5:30 pm to depart for your welcome dinner. The dinner reservation time will be finalized closer to your trip. If you plan on arriving today, we recommend flying into CUZ airport.

Day 2: july 20th, 2024

Check out of the hotel and embark on an exploration of the hidden treasures of the Sacred Valley. Your journey starts with a brief transfer to visit the vibrant Pisac Market, an ideal spot to purchase local souvenirs and relish traditional Peruvian flavors. Then, explore the impressive Pisac ruins, renowned for their exquisite stonework and breathtaking agricultural terraces. Continue to the Amarú community, where skilled artisans showcase ancient camelid fiber techniques. Conclude the day with a stop at a local restaurant for lunch before arriving at your Ollantaytambo hotel in the afternoon. Dress comfortably in walking shoes, bring a rain jacket, and don a hat. Carrying a day-pack with your essentials is highly recommended.

Day 3: july 21st, 2024

Prepare your camera, as you embark on a visit to the breathtaking Machu Picchu site. The day begins with a scenic train journey to Aguas Calientes, followed by a transfer to the hidden ruins nestled amidst towering mountains. You’ll have the morning to discover this historical gem, and after midday, you will be back at Aguas Calientes with free time to lunch on your own. Please note that your main luggage should remain at the Ollantaytambo Hotel, as you’ll only need a carry-on for this one-night journey to Aguas Calientes.

Day 4: July 22nd, 2024

Another day to delve into the wonders of Machu Picchu, as one visit is never enough. Today’s highlight is a hike to Machu Picchu Mountain, a mesmerizing trail offering breathtaking views of the ruins and the majestic Andes mountains. After the hike, you’ll return to Aguas Calientes for lunch at your leisure before boarding the train for the journey back to Ollantaytambo, arriving in the late afternoon. To adapt to changing weather conditions, we recommend dressing in layers: a synthetic t-shirt, a fleece jacket, and a waterproof jacket as outer layers; paired with long underwear, lightweight and quick-drying hiking trousers, and sturdy hiking boots.

Day 5: July 23rd, 2024

Today marks the beginning of your return journey to Cusco, featuring a guided vehicle tour visiting three highlights of the Sacred Valley. We’ll start with a short transfer to our first stop, the captivating ruins of Ollantaytambo—an extraordinary Inca site. Following this, we’ll visit the impressive Moray agricultural terraces and the awe-inspiring Maras salt flats before arriving at your Cusco hotel by late afternoon. During the tour, there will be a stop at Maras village for lunch, which will be at your own expense. We recommend wearing comfortable clothing, sturdy walking shoes, a rain jacket, and a hat for your comfort during transfers and tours.

Day 6: July 24th, 2024

Today, indulge in the enchantment of Cusco through a Peruvian cooking class. In the morning, a brief 15-minute transfer will whisk you to the vibrant San Pedro Market. Accompanied by a professional chef, you’ll select the necessary ingredients for the cooking recipes. Following this, you’ll head to the cooking studio where you’ll learn to prepare Ceviche, Pisco Sour, and other Peruvian delicacies. Once your culinary creations are complete, delight in them during a flavorful lunch shared with fellow travelers. Afterwards, a short transfer will take you back to your hotel, leaving the afternoon free for you to explore at your own pace.

Day 7: July 25th, 2024

Today is a free day to explore and enjoy Cusco at your own pace. You’ll have access to the ‘Cusco Tourist Ticket,’ which covers entry fees to numerous museums, archaeological sites, art centers, and monuments. Feel free to ask your guide for recommendations on places to visit. Note that the ticket doesn’t include transfers or guides. For those seeking more hiking adventures, an optional trek to Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain is available, leading to breathtaking viewpoints of these vibrant mountains.

Day 8: July 26th, 2024

All good things must come to an end, but only until your next adventure! Enjoy a final breakfast and then make your own way onward. If departing directly from the hotel, we recommend flying out of CUZ.
