trip details
Bemvindo!
Welcome Social
Everyone’s coming in at different times of the day. We’ll keep this night chill (though you don’t have to!). Check in to your villa or apartments and meet up for a couple of drinks at one of our favorite rooftops in Madeira.
Going to Mars!
Ponta da Sao Lorenco
We’ll start our trip to Madeira with an adventure to the east side of the island. The volcanic rocks in Ponta da Sao Lorenco make for a dramatic landscape and stunning views. We’ll hike for 1.5 hours, and take a boat back from the cafe. The afternoon is yours to relax, catch up on work. We’ll meet up at a secret beach bar down the cliffs for a gorgeous sunset, music, and dinner (optional).
4×4 Adventure to the North
We’ll head to the north and west side where the cliffs meet the ocean. We’ll take a roadtrip on open top 4x4s and drive through waterfalls, rock pools, mystic forests, and some of the most breathtaking views on the island. We’ll also make a couple of poncha stops at a few local taverns so you get intimate with the local culture (including the Madeiran drinks!)
Saúdade
One of the most spectacular sunrises you’ll ever see. On Pico Do Arieiro, join Ana as she leads us into acceptance and being in the present with a sound meditation session with a magical backdrop
Hikers | After the sunrise meditation, you’ll have the option to make your way on a 3 hour hike to the tallest peak, Pico Ruivo. The afternoon is yours to catch up on work or relax. In the evening, we’re heading to a reggae bar on the west in our all whites for dinner, drinks, and another magical sunset for those who’d like to join (optional)
Waterfalls Hikes & Forests
Madeira is full of waterfalls and levadas (irrigation canals). These are surrounded by lush green hills and temperate weather. We’ll take you through some of the lesser known, and more beautiful paths on the island. After, we’ll head to the mystic forest of Fanal! Run around the foggy, mysterious forest, or go say hi to the cows hanging on the cliff’s edge.
Catamaran, Whales, & Dolphins
Our own private catamaran will take us to go see the Whales and Dolphins that reside in the waters of Madeira! We’ll also make our way to the giant cliffs of Cape Girão for a quick swim, so bring your bikinis and swim trunks. The ride back is even more spectacular with the sky changing colors post sunset! Good music and wine are onboard!
Farewell with a Local Chef
The day is yours to explore at your own pace. Finish buying those souvenirs and gifts, grab a little brunch in Funchal, or go Toboggan sledding with someone in the group! At night, we’ll have an intimate last meal together. Chef Filipe Janeiro will prepare a meal for us with a modern twist to traditional Portuguese cuisine!
